I took a hiatus from blogging. Sorry for my absence! While in DC I spent every moment I could with my friends — who are beyond wonderful — and since I’ve been home I’ve been struck with a bit of sadness and a lot of sloth.
As I look back on this almost-finished year, I realize what a roller coaster it has been. My ups have been at an Everest level and my lows have felt worse than the Death Valley in the middle of July. I have lost a few people in my life who were very dear and gained many who just fit perfectly into my ever-changing life. I have felt both cursed and blessed.
With all that said, it has been an overwhelming year, which sometimes calls us away from things (like blogging or keeping up with thank you notes and Christmas cards). This year has taught me to reflect, take time for myself and step out in faith when there seems to be no definite life plan. Sometimes I just have to disappear, especially in the world of the Web where anyone (that means you and you and you) can have access to the thoughts I’m willing to stamp out in cyber ink.
So, I guess you could call this little entry an excuse, but I hope you’ll continue to to read my little insights. May we all continue to grow in the coming year! It’s time to throw order to the wind.
(P.S. I’ll leave you with some photos from my most lovely time in DC.)
