I know, I know, I know. It has taken me too long to finish this tiny series. In fact, I have only a little over a month left in this program! It’s just been such a whirlwind that I often (sadly) forget to blog.
Anywho, it’s time you meet Hannah, but before I begin there’s a couple changes since I began this little slice of my life in DC. One, we never refer to ourselves as roomskies anymore. It’s funny how names come and go so quickly sometimes. Two, speaking of going, our room has been downsized. We began as five on this journey and after a couple short weeks we became a family of four. So, yes, this will be the last of the roomskie posts. Continue reading
First of all, I am so sorry. I am the worst blogger ever! But I am back.
So, this weekend was crazy here in DC. Friday the little ghouls and goblins were out two days early for treats, tricks and all that goodness. Saturday was the rally, and it was oh-so-fantastic — more to come on that in a second. Sunday loads of runners, aka those who love to torture themselves, were out in the Marine Corps Marathon, plus scores of adults dressed in outlandish costumes went out for Halloween.
But, the best part of this weekend would most definitely be the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear. I am not the most avid watcher of The Daily Show or The Colbert Report, but I thoroughly enjoyed their message, which was both humorous and serious. America, let’s stop it with extremes, try to work through our differences and get stuff done. Unlike some I don’t care if your blood runs red or blue, and I think both sides have some legitimate points.
Anywho, I’ll step off my soapbox.
Off to the other reason I love the rally — the music. Oh my, oh my, oh my. The Roots, John Legend, Cat Stevens. A new favorite, an always favorite and an old favorite. I could say more, but I would just sound like a gushing fan girl.
So, now I will leave you with some photos of the greatness that was on the Mall Saturday.
